I'll overwhelm 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Civil Exchange

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest money-making draws, frequently receiving massive paydays.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly in the works for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the customary confrontation, with their size difference on show, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
