In 2026, the next chapter is set to arrive. The initial preview for Toy Story 5 appeared recently, providing a glimpse into the storyline but keeping viewers wondering how it will resolve the ending of Toy Story 4.

The preview reveals the young girl — who inherited the toy collection when he left for college — receiving a latest plaything, one that terrifies the familiar toy group. She acquires her first tablet computer, and she is thrilled about it.

Presumably, the amphibian-inspired device will animate just like the rest of her playthings. Still, the characters seem to view it as a threat coming to replace them, which it probably is.

The Cowboy's Comeback: Mysteries from Toy Story 4

An element the teaser avoids is why Woody is returned with his companions in the child's bedroom. The end of Toy Story 4 depicted him embark on a new adventure with the shepherdess (the actress), traveling with a carnival and helping giveaway items locate loving owners.

Certainly, the filmmakers will address the aftermath of Toy Story 4 in the movie. Witnessing him show up in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is a little strange, however. It also raises questions whether his partner will have returned with him. And what about the stuntman toy (Keanu Reeves)?
